my Top kitchen remodel prep tip & favorite Kitchen Organizers

In 2023, my family embarked on a kitchen remodel. I scoured the internet for tips to make the process as smooth as possible. We began the project right after school let out, and the renovation zone encompassed the central part of our home. The construction was unavoidable, but the end result—a beautiful new kitchen—was well worth it.

One thing I’m particularly glad I did was to take inventory of everything in my kitchen and storage room before starting the demolition. I numbered my cabinets and listed their contents. When working with the cabinet company, I referred to this inventory to ensure everything would have a place. Once we finalized the cabinet design, I mapped my inventory to the new layout. This helped me visualize how our belongings would fit into the new space and identify any potential storage gaps.

After the cabinets were installed, my inventory map made it easy to return our belongings to their designated spots. This process not only helped me declutter but also ensured that everything had a functional home in the new kitchen. If you are planning for a kitchen remodel, I hope this tip helps!

We opted for drawers in our island instead of cabinets, and these are a few of my favorite organizers. Please note that some links in this post are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you purchase through them at no extra cost to you.

Matching Spice Jar Set with Labels

This set offers the flexibility to store spices either upright or flat, while still allowing you to read the labels. Since I store my spices vertically in a drawer, I appreciate that the black stickers fit on the lids. They're organized alphabetically, making it easy to find the spice I need.

Drawer Dividers

Drawer dividers are one of my all-time favorite organizational tools. Their versatility is unmatched. I love using them in drawers throughout my house. In my kitchen, I use them in a deep drawer to organize my kids' lunchboxes and other child-specific dishes. I also use them in my spice drawer to separate spices from other items, keeping the spice jars organized and in place.

Bamboo Drawer Organizer

Everytime I open my utensil drawer and see everything tucked neatly in its place, it brings me so much dang joy! I love that this drawer organizer is expandable.

Supplement Keeper

I take a lot of supplements and despise having bottles all over my counter, but if I do not see said supplements, I will forget to take them… This summer I finally found the perfect solution. The dividers within this pill organizer can be moved around to accommodate different sized pills. I also added labels to ensure I knew what everything was as some look the same. This has been a game changer to reduce visual clutter while also having my supplements readily available. It is also easier for me to see when I am running low on something.
